RAM Computer Services has been designing, installing and supporting Microsoft networks of all sizes since Microsoft entered the networking arena back in the late 1980's with their Workgroups for Windows product. In 1995 when RAM installed its first Unix based server (Xenix actually), we could see a real potential for Unix. However, back then, Unix was locked in by a couple of companies that pretty much controlled the OS and there wasn’t much software out there for it. Time has made quite a difference though. Now a unix-like operating system originally written in 1991 by a 21 year old student at the university of Helsinki has come to dominate the Unix market.
